The concept for Closely Knit was to reflect “the way people live now” by capturing contemporary family structures and social networks in an urban setting.
This how-to knitting book was art directed and designed for the North Light Books imprint of F&W Publications. The photography was shot on location in the historic neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, showing bits of homes, neighborhood institutions and the character of the architecture. Elements of the page design riff on the Victorian building ornament found on area buildings.
