When the Cincinnati Preservation Association tasked me with broadening and diversifying its audience, I spearheaded a new content strategy to complement the organization’s highly regarded direct action and advocacy efforts with original content and social media outreach. My goals were twofold: to broaden the conversations around preservation, and to nurture a more inclusive community of preservationists.

I redesigned the organization’s website in WordPress to emphasize a dynamic homepage showcasing diverse preservation-related stories alongside internal news and accomplishments. I generated original research and content in addition to soliciting and producing stories from a variety of local sources.

The website redesign created a regular stream of new and diverse content to share across all communication channels, dramatically improving SEO.

I created the Instagram account that supports and complements CPA’s initiatives through strategic news cross-promotion and original educational posts designed to appeal to a diversity of local interests. The engagement rate regularly beats the industry average through highly visual, value-added content that demonstrates the plurality of local preservation efforts.

I was additionally invited to contribute original content to the grant-funded online resource, Cincinnati Sites & Stories. I researched and wrote over 30 articles highlighting aspects of local Black history. A few favorites:
